Cheryl's heartbreaking final promise to ex Liam Payne at One Direction star's funeral
Cheryl was among the mourners at the funeral of her ex-boyfriend Liam Payne
Liam Payne was given a tearful farewell, with his ex-partner Cheryl Tweedy making a poignant promise to the father of their son.
The Girls Aloud star was among the mourners yesterday (November 20), which included One Direction members Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan, who gathered to bid farewell to the beloved singer. Payne tragically lost his life after falling from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on October 16.
Cheryl, flanked by her Girls Aloud bandmates Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, stood with Liam's bereaved parents, Geoff and Karen Payne, and his sisters Ruth and Nicola, at the funeral that she had a hand in organising. Insiders report that Liam's family were determined to give him a respectful and "perfect" tribute following his untimely death in "such a horrible way".
Cheryl, who is reportedly "devastated" by Liam's passing, made an emotional final pledge to him for the sake of their seven year old child, Bear.
A confidante revealed to MailOnline that the songstress has pledged that their child will always remember his dad.

This vow resonates deeply as the impact of Bear's loss became apparent yesterday when Liam's coffin arrived at the Home Counties church by horse-drawn carriage, adorned with two poignant floral tributes, reports the Mirror.
Among them was one simply stating "son", and another heartrending message from Bear made up of white flowers spelling out "Daddy".
The singer's friends disclosed to the media outlet that Cheryl is engulfed in sadness, commenting: "She has her own grief, but she also has a little boy who won't see his daddy again, and that is just heartbreaking," they remarked.
The source mentioned that despite Cheryl and Liam parting ways in 2018 after a two-year relationship, they remained connected through their shared affection for their son.
Only days following his passing, Cheryl offered a heartfelt homage to her previous partner on Instagram.
Accompanied by a monochrome photo of Payne lying in bed with their son, Cheryl expressed: "As I try to navigate this earth shattering event, and work through my own grief at this indescribably painful time, I'd like to kindly remind everyone that we have lost a human being."
"Liam was not only a pop star and celebrity, he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend and a father to our 7 year old son. A son that now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again."
The former pair seemed to be on amicable terms at the time of Liam's passing, with the Teardrops vocalist frequently lauding his ex-partner as the "best mum in the world " and thanking her for enabling him to chase his musical dreams while also being a father.
Payne's farewell ceremony was also attended by his girlfriend at the time of his death, Kate Cassidy. She was joined by Elizabeth Hurley's son, Damian.
Kate had travelled with Liam to Buenos Aires in October. However, she wasn't with him when he died, having returned to Miami just four days prior.
She has briefly expressed her grief following his death and shared with fans that she and Liam had plans to wed in the near future.
Simon Cowell, James Corden, and Adrian Chiles were among the attendees at Liam's funeral. While it was initially thought that Liam's service would take place in his hometown of Wolverhampton, a source revealed it was decided to hold it in a location where he, Cheryl, and Bear had made their h
